Keep your espresso machine clean and performing at its best with our Premium Espresso Machine Cleaner.

Designed for cleaning espresso machine group heads, group valves, portafilters and filter baskets, this cleaning powder helps remove the coffee oils and residue that naturally build up with regular use.

Suitable for backflushing compatible espresso machines using a blind filter, including many traditional domestic and commercial espresso machines.

Gentle yet effective, regular cleaning helps keep the internal coffee pathway clean and prevents old coffee oils from affecting the flavour of your espresso.

How to backflush your espresso machine – general guide:

Important: This is a general guide suitable for many traditional espresso machines. Always follow the cleaning and backflushing instructions provided by your coffee machine manufacturer, as procedures can vary between models.

• Remove the filter basket from the portafilter and insert a blind filter.
• Add approximately ½ teaspoon of espresso machine cleaner to the blind filter.
• Lock the portafilter into the group head.
• Run the group for approximately 3–5 seconds, then stop. Repeat 3 times.
• Allow the cleaner to sit for approximately 3 minutes.
• Run the group for 3–5 seconds at a time, approximately 6 times.
• Remove the portafilter and rinse it thoroughly.
• Run water through the group head to remove any remaining cleaner.
• Refit the clean blind filter and repeat several short backflush cycles using clean water only.
• Remove the blind filter, rinse the portafilter and replace your normal filter basket.
• Discard the first espresso after cleaning.

Cleaning Portafilters & Filter Baskets

Mix approximately 1 tablespoon of cleaner with 1 litre of hot water. Soak metal portafilters and filter baskets for approximately 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Only soak metal parts. Do not immerse portafilter handles or other non-metal components.

Storage tip: Always keep the container tightly sealed when not in use to protect the cleaner from moisture and maintain its foaming action, which is important for effective cleaning.
